About Us

Caring for the children

of Paddington for

33 amazing years

POOSC has been looking after the children of Paddington for over 30 years! POOSC is a place where children can play and learn, where staff are professional and families and the community are valued and included


We run a before school & after school care service for the children of Paddington Public School. Vacation care is available for all children aged 5-12 years old who are enrolled in school in this current year

Non-for-profit &

governed by families

Our service is a non for profit childcare that runs within the grounds of Paddington Public school


Our dedicated Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and Vacation Care Manager are committed to supporting our non-profit service and are responsible to the POOSC Parents Committee


Our committee is made up of parents & guardians of the children of the centre. If you are interested in sharing ideas & engaging in how the service runs, please let us know we would love to have you on board!

We operate Vacation Care during NSW school holiday periods and selected pupil free days/school staff development days. We are licensed to provide Vacation care to children aged 5-12 years old and who are enrolled and attending school in the current calendar year.

Any additional activity costs, such as incursions and excursions will be advertised with each terms Vacation Care program


Childcare Subsidy is applied to both fees and activity costs and is availiable for all eligible families

What kids should bring to vacation care

  • Morning tea & lunch. Afternoon tea will be provided
  • A wide-brim hat & water bottle
  • Comfortable, sun safe clothes that cover the shoulders

  • Please ensure all belongings are labelled

  • Please arrive no later than 9:30 am on excursion days
  • Children will be back at the centre no later than 3:30pm
  • Risk assessments are available for each excursion, including transportation, in line with the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

Cancellation Policy

Booking Information



  • Due to the high level of planning and management involved in the vacation care program, all bookings for vacation care must be made in advance, prior to attendance. Bookings will not be confirmed unless a confirmation email has been received and payment details have been set up.


  • Due to childcare ratios, last-minute bookings may not be available. You must call the service and confirm availability with staff before your child can attend. Please do not turn up to the service without a booking.


  • Vacation care booking numbers may need to be capped due to child and staff ratios, activity limits and transport capacities. Please be sure to book in early to avoid disappointment.


  • All booking requests for vacation care must be made through the OWNA app. If you are new to POOSC please fill out an enrolment form on our website or email us at admin@poosc.com.au If you need a last-minute booking on the day of care, please call us.


  • On occasion, the days planned program may need to be amended due to adverse weather conditions or due to other unforeseen circumstances. We will notify families of any changes to the program as soon as possible, either via email or OWNA booking app
  • Any cancellation of vacation care bookings must be made in writing via email to admin@poosc.com.au


  • Fees will not be charged if families cancel a booking more than 7 days out. For example, to incur no fee for next Tuesday's booking, you must cancel before the Tuesday prior.


  • If providing less than the required 7-day notice period, booking can only be marked absent and all fees will still be charged.


  • No refunds or credits will be provided if bookings have not been canceled in line with the cancellation notice period. Fees still apply for absence due to illness, missing excursion departure times, and for change of heart. If you are unsure whether your cancellation was received please email us at the same time you made the cancellation request.
